MARNI NIXON’s Encores Master Class
Recording artist & Broadway singing great, Marni Nixon guides singers and the audience through an enjoyable afternoon of familiar music from Broadway & The American Songbook.

MARK MARKHAM’s Performance Duo Workshop From the recital stage with American legend Jessye Norman to the workshop space with aspiring you singers and pianists, Mark Markham works with collaborative duos before the public on performance practices.
April 30, 1-4:30pm
THOMAS GRUBB’s POULENC & The Surrealist Master Class
Thomas Grubb, the author of Singing in French: A Singer’s Manual of French Diction & French Vocal Repertoire will focus this performance master class on the Surrealist poets and composers like Francis Poulenc who set these poems to music.

THOMAS MURACO’s Hugo Wolf & His Contemporaries Master Class
Italian Songbook & Other Lieder By Wolf & His Contemporaries
Pianist, Conductor, and Coach, Thomas Muraco, will guide singers and pianists before the public on an illuminating afternoon of Hugo Wolf’s Italian Lieder book and other Lieder by Wolf and his contemporaries.

FRANK DAYKIN’s Fauré, Debussy, Ravel, Poulenc Master Class
The author of The Encyclopedia of French Song, Frank Daykin, will work with singers and pianists on the melodies of Fauré, Debussy, Ravel and Poulenc. This event is open to the public and shouldn’t be missed!

The Finals Competition
The Mary Trueman Art Song Recital & Vocal Competition Finals
Nearly 100 singers competed in the fall of 2015 in this international vocal competition. ASPS’s Spring Into Song 2016 season begins with a vocal competition in recital format. The top 15 finalists from the 2015 semi-finals will now compete before an audience singing some of the most beloved French, German, Italian, and American art songs.
**judges for this event include Corradina Caporello, Thomas Grubb, Mark Markham, Thomas Muraco, and Marni Nixon. The audience and will also vote for their favorite singer!

French & German Art Song Recital
with pianists, Thomas Grubb & Thomas Muraco
at Christ & St. Stephen’s Church (120 West 69th Street)
Legendary pianists Thomas Grubb & Thomas Muraco will join with rising stars Robert Brandt (baritone), Sahoko Sato Timpone (mezzo), Emily D'Angelo (mezzo) and Winnie Nieh (soprano) in an evening of French & German song.
